Houseparty app lets you make up video calls to eight peoples at a time. Here’s how you can ensure that your chats stay private.
The lockdown, due to the outbreak of Coronavirus, has exploded the popularity of Houseparty. Not only does Houseparty allow you to call up to eight people at a time, but the fun part is that it also allows you to play games like Pictionary, Trivia, and others while you are on call.
However, when you first sign in, the app asks for permissions of all sorts of applications. You will need ample access to alert you when someone from your contacts enters Houseparty and every time they log in to the device. The app is also allowing access to your locations. Most people tend to allow access to the majority of things when building the account first. But, if you’re still irked by the relentless alerts now, here are some ways to use the device more privately:
How to video call privately on Houseparty
Step 1: Open the Houseparty app and tap on the face emoji icon placed in the top left corner.
Step 2: Tap on the Settings icon on the top left corner.
Step 3: Turn on the toggle for private mode.
Now all of your chats are going to be held in private and even you ‘re alone in the app, you can decide with whom you want to make a video call and no friend can add themselves to the video call. The app calls it “The room is closed.”
You can also turn off the “send my alerts” toggle and “get my friends notification” for more anonymity, otherwise your friends will be alerted any time you start using the app.
